Table 2 shows the "Fat Cat" campaign contributions donated by dirty energy companies benefiting from each of the four government subsidy programs and the even fatter subsidies those campaign contributions helped to secure. All told, the $39 million in "Fat Cat" contributions from these companies helped to protect an estimated $7.3 billion over seven years in civilian and military dirty energy subsidies. That represents a 186:1 return on their investment!
