President Obama used his recent inaugural speech to promise serious climate action in his second term, and it's up to us to hold him to that by demanding he reject the dirty Keystone XL tar sands pipeline. Please help spread the word about the Forward on Climate Rally -- it's poised to be the largest climate rally in U.S. history.

Hello,

President Obama won his second term saying that he would move our country forward. And in his inaugural address he singled out climate change as a serious issue that we must tackle. Not all of us get a second chance, but now President Obama has an opportunity to make the right call on the dirty Keystone XL pipeline.

Under the second term administration, climate action advocate Secretary of State John Kerry is responsible for assuring that the State Department completes a thorough environmental review of the proposed pipeline that analyzes the climate impacts of tar sands production.

Now he and the president have not only the chance but the responsibility to assess the pipeline’s disastrous impacts on the climate, as well as the people living along the pipeline route and near refineries in the Gulf of Mexico.

On Sunday, February 17, tens of thousands of people will gather on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., for a huge climate rally to send a message to President Obama: Stop Keystone XL!

The Forward on Climate Rally, organized by our friends at 350.org, the Sierra Club and more than 80 other partner organizations including Friends of the Earth, will be an historic opportunity to call on President Obama to live up to the promises he made during his inaugural address.
