2005 Environmental Shareholder Resolutions
Five environmental organizations, Friends of the Earth, Greenpeace, US Public Interest Research Group, Bluewater Network, and the Center for International Environmental Law, have endorsed a total of 49 environmental shareholder resolutions. (Note: each one of these organizations does not necessarily endorse nor have expertise on every resolution listed below.
The endorsement list was complied based on the following criteria:
1. Resolutions advocating improved environmental policies, performance, or disclosure; or the elimination of environmentally harmful projects or practices. Major categories of environmental resolutions include: global warming, energy, genetically engineered food, environmentally sensitive areas, toxics, and sustainability reporting.
2. Resolutions that do not have a clear environmental "ask" must include explicit environmental language in supporting statements, or be filed at companies where environmental issues play a role in the shareholder dialogue.
