The numbers are startling: July was the hottest month in over a century, stronger wildfires are burning millions of acres in the West, and California’s debilitating drought continues unabated. Climate change is happening; and the time left to avoid irreversible, catastrophic consequences is drawing short. The widespread demand for real climate solutions reach a critical point in December, when the global leaders convene the United Nation-sponsored climate talks in Paris to negotiate a global climate agreement. To help ensure that leaders understand what’s at stake, and to encourage citizens to raise their voices in a call for meaningful, global action on climate change. In the midst of this momentous occasion, Friends of the Earth U.S., the UN Foundation, Natasha Bedingfield, Sir Paul McCartney and a host of artists and performers have teamed up to release “Love Song to the Earth.”

The artists, producers and directors of the Love Song project — as well as Apple — are donating their respective proceeds to Friends of the Earth U.S. and the United Nations Foundation.

A passion project born from songwriters Toby Gad and Natasha Bedingfield, “Love Song” was penned as an anthem to capture the spirit and motivations of climate action. The all-star song, released today, features the vocal talents of some of the biggest and best-known voices on the planet. Sir Paul McCartney, Jon Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow, Fergie, Colbie Caillat, Leona Lewis, Johnny Rzeznik, Krewella, Angelique Kidjo, Kelsea Ballerini, Nicole Scherzinger, Christina Grimmie, Victoria Justice and Q’Orianka Kilcher have lent their talents to help amplify the song’s message and reach.
